Default Bad taste in new water tank

    Hello all

I have just put a new 50lt water tank in my Hilux. Changed the water after about a week, but the fresh batch still tastes really terrible. Not drinkeable. Any advice on what to use to get rid of the taste?

    Thanks

    Steve

Try Milton (used to sterilize baby botles) but be careful and ad only 25ml or so and let stand for 1 or 2 hours if u can take the vechle on a bumby ride to shake it all up {"even better good excuse to hit the dirt"} drain the tank and see if better if not repeat. it worked wonders for me. only add small amounts

I use a spoonfull or two (quater cup - depending on container size) swimming pool chlorine granules with a full comntainer water. Let it shake.

Drain, rinse and fill with clean water.

Vinegar and a little vanilla essence. You don't have to use much, maybe a cup or two. Leave it in for a few days. then rinse with one of the chlorine products. Miltons etc. It even got rid of that evil plastic taste.

Half a cap of Milton in a tank full. Use it with the Milton in the water.

Go easy on the Milton - I did it in my trailer and was a bit heavy handed. I tasted Milton for a year - but the water sure was clean
