Apart from service items, the V10 Touareg needed the following in the time I have owned it (8 years & 247000 km):
    • 1 x thermostat unit (ħR3000)
    • 1 x reconditioned air suspension pump (ħR5500)
    • 1 x injector (2nd hand) ("service" agents did not change the fuel filter, which caused the failure) (R0-00 thanks to marius)
    • 1 x window winder cable (ħR550)
    • 1 x air strut (small hole in bellows) (ħR3000 estimate)
    • 1 x broken sensor wire (no cost, DIY)
    • 1 x blocked sunroof drain (No cost - DIY)
    • Currently there is an aircon pipe with a leak.
    • (If I missed something, it would be a minor one)

That, is a rather comfortable "bed-of-nails", and a small price to pay for the privilege of driving a vehicle with an iconic engine.
Not really off topic. If my treg was as reliable as dad's or most of the other tregs on the forum then this pajero thread won't exist.

I wanted another touareg, but the ones I wanted was out of budget, and I wasn't going to stretch the budget again. There is, as it stands, still a small amount outstanding on the engine loan of the treg.

Well done Marius, may it serve you well.
    Ours is a 2011 Pajero GLS Gen 4 150000km.
In this model there is still a dash rattle problem on bad dirt roads.
I have not managed to get anybody that can fix it or advise me on how to sort it out myself.
It does not have a rear difflock, only a centre has one which I have never needed to engage because of the terrain. We have been in a few tricky places where a bit of planning always got us through.
Its a very capable understated no fuss vehicle has taken us everwhere we wanted to go in the nicest possible way.
We like traveling with it so much that we have been thinking about touring other continents with it.

    Marius,
    Taken delivery yet??
I was back in a Pajero again last weekend (first time in four years). A Gen 4 LWB powered by my all time favourite engine, 3.8V6 MIVEC .
It was a pleasant experience and the size of the Pajero caught me by surprise. I had forgotten how roomy they are.

Don't forget to post a few pics when it happens.

Marius, congratulations and many happy miles.

    I have owned a shorty 3.2 Pajero and now a V6tdi Touareg.

The Touareg is a brilliant vehicle and most comfortable drive. The Pajero is super reliable and more suited to off the road.

If I had to choose again - I simply dont know what I would choose. I suppose the application will dictate.
Find the solutions, not the problems.

    How true..
I don't have a Pajero in my garage anymore, but after 7 Pajeros over 21 years I'll always see myself as a Pajero owner.

Lusted for a Landy but the Pajero was sexier and bigger in the right departments, just like my Missus.

Congrats Marius. The only thing I miss with the GLX is the cruise control. Apart from that, it's fantastic value for money compared to the GLS

Cruise control buttons are in the aliexpress shopping cart.

Just making sure I actually buy the car before placing the order.

If the car is not right when I pick it up Im sending it back.
