This is not that silly. I have drive some serious 4x4 trails where road building just goes beyond imagination.
It is not what you buy its what you build.

That donga is there because someone built a road there. The water ran down that road and caused the erosion that formed the donga. You filling the donga up with rocks will not only allow you to use the road, it will reduce the erosion and the damage caused in the first place by the road that was built (often) for 4x4s. Also, it will allow others to cross the donga more safely, perhaps when the next vehicle is transporting a patient who just got bitten by a snake........you could be saving a life? My personal take on it is to leave a damaged road in better condition. That even means that if I got bogged down and dug some holes in the process of getting out, I will fix it afterwards before I leave. This holds for any public road, but a pure 4x4 trail in a closed location, built to challenge 4x4 drivers and their vehicles, of course, is something different and should not be dumbed down.

Unfortunately trails seem to be catering for soft 4x4s more and more

Maybe we don't care about posting in the Toyota group, the original topic here was to see if the the Land Rover guys came out ok.

Sorry to disappoint you but mine is not "just another car like yours". They are Land Rovers.
