Default Airport Lounges - OR Tambo

    Howsit

Can anybody tell me who frequently flies international from OR Tambo what is the better option between:

    Bidvest premier lounge
    Mashinzha lounge
    Shongololo lounge

Going overseas in two months and I rarely get to use these.

    Thanks

I have always used the Bidvest Lounge for local, ''local'' overseas (Africa) trips but if I am flying Business then the relevant airline lounge.

Its okay, well kept and has sufficient facilities to make your wait comfortable. I vape and area for this is available even if it's full of smokers

Lounge is not a big deal unless you have a long wait and you smoke.

Even then some of the Card based VIP access systems limit your time you can spend in the lounge.

ORTIA Int I choose SAA. Nice meal of Soup, Hot and Cold and starters. Free booze. Smoking room - I don't smoke but travel with people that do. Nice if you can get into the Platinum section. Really luxury foods, French Champagne and nothing less than JW Black.

Bidvest BUSY, same menu for years. (Chicken Wings and Meatballs with Tomango Sweet Chilli and BBC sauces, and Melktertjies.)
    Self service bar/s. Nice.

I start all trips with a Double Bloody Mary with extra Tobasco. Then another one.

    ------------------------

Never mind ORTIA - the lounges that really count are at long layovers in overseas airports. Buying food and drinks can cost an arm and a leg. Singapore Changi Airport - 2 Beers and a Burger, R1200-R1700

Bidvest lounges both on international and domestic sides are comfortable. I actually prefer the domestic one to the BA and SAA lounges. Haven't used them enough to become bored with the menu.

I've tried them all at one time or another and at OR Tambo the Standard bank library lounge is by far the pick of the bunch

Currently at the SLOW lounge in Cape Town. It's busy, but the food is good, the whiskey (Glenfiddich 12yr) is free and the wifi not bad.

Oh, and it's free cos of FNB, unlimited visits..

Oh, and ORTIA is also not bad. Cape Town best though.

With FNB I get access to the SLOW lounge and through work we get access to the Bidvest lounge. Bidvest the better of the two for me personally.

    Cannot comment on the others

On FNB card you get access to the Slow Lounge. Decor and atmosphere very relaxing at ORT Intl.
I do however prefer the SAA lounge due to views expressed earlier
