    Default T4A and garmin nuvi

Hi all, please excuse me if Iím repeating things that have already been discussed in other threads.

Iím adventure biking on a budget and strapped my dads old garmin quest to my bike and all was well. Unfortunately itís fried now.

Looking to replace it and seems 2nd hand nuviís is the only garmin model that will fit my sub R600 budget. Iím keen on backroads and such in my area(southern cape) and t4a sell this map for R200/year. They couldnít give me a list of compatible garmins. I have my eye on a nuvi 300 but if t4a wont work on it i will be better of on my phone-for free. Ideally dont want to use the phone as that the time when i would like to escape being connected.

I understand its not as rugged dust and waterproof as a montana or even the quest.

    Please advise

    Cheers.

Updated my nuvi 42LM with free Southern Africa updates yesterday - I was pleasantly surprised to see that T4A was also downloaded free with the package. Not sure if that would be helpful for you.

Off topic, but the T4A you see with your update is Point of Interest only, if I am not mistaken. Not the map.

Any Nuvi will run T4A as an onboard map or as an SD card map.

I'd run it as an SD card map, you can switch between maps when required.
