Default Feedback required: Flip Box - would you use something like this?

    Hi Community,

So, as usual, when you want to find out some honest, straightforward and direct answers, you come here...

Would anybody use a product like this?

Firstly, some background. It's not available in RSA at the moment and my missus is looking for market feedback on whether something like this would be viable to produce locally. Its German name is 'Flip Box'.

Here's a video on Youtube and some pics from the actual box we have on hand at the moment.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSOtXh_xiqI

Any and All feedback is appreciated as well as improvements in design, usage ideas, etc.

    TIA

Is it for long-term or short-term use?

Long term. Also, once you are done with it, is completely recyclable.

Difficult one- I would say it should be able to take 4 x long tom six packs?

It would be nice if she could have a few sizes available? Requirements vary between people.

I'm sure I've seen something similar in SA... I just can't remember where... Maybe one of the plastic places...

I wouldn't, and that's because I have a rigid Chilly Chest for keeping stuff frozen/really cold, and enough collapsible cooler bags (the Campmasters from Makro are really good) to not be able to justify the expense.
But it looks like a great concept for those who are storage space-deprived, like someone who lives in a flat or small complex apartment/house. I have a double garage for all that stuff!

It does look like much more than just a cooler box, it is is cold and hot box and no ice required, but no carry straps so not really ideal to replace a cooler box.

Well, this is what we need to know. Also there are a few (5) sizes at the moment but those are the Flip Box. This will be locally made so sizes can be tailored. I'll get more info on this.

Not to mention ridiculously expensive, for a BOX!!!! The prices will come in much better.

So a handle for a strap is a great idea. Thanks Dirk.

Great idea... but keeping stuff cold without ice?

I would be interested in something like this if the price is right. I have the following sizes in mind that can typically take the following combinations:
    - 4x 500ml beercan 6 packs
    - 2x 2l cooldrinks
    - 1x 2l cooldrink and 2x 6 pack beers

I also think the carry handle idea is great even if it is purely webbing, and darker colours
