As for the OP - 2.4, not bad - fuel consumption appears to be bad (no experience myself). i drove a 2017 model and i actually enjoyed the feel for such a basic vehicle - haven't driven it up a serious hill, so can't comment.
but i see you're looking at a Nav now?
Yes rather think it will be better. I'm still so undesired but it looks like a good deal.

Ek weet nie hoekom nie maar ek hou meer hiervan as van die Navara. Veral as hy soos dit lyk. Baie netjies Reenen

    Something that crossed my mind...
Everybody seems to complain about the lack of rear leg room and bumpy suspension of the NP300.
But it was never an issue when you used to get the Hardbody, Hilux KZTE shape, Isuzu KB280 shape etc.
Did we become spoiled or softies

Back then it was the norm. Now it's a relic of the past, where most other DC bakkies offer more rear leg room.

Yes and that's where the Navara comes in
For the price of the NP300 you can also get a GWM Steed(same legroom and bumpy ride) or a Mahindra Scorpio d/c or a Used Ranger/Navara with about 100 000km on.

Apart from the Patrol and perhaps NP200, these days it seems as if Nissan bakkies are constructed out of matchsticks and tinfoil. The NP300 collapses during a crash, the new Navara collapses under load. Very disconcerting...

Was the older Hardbody not the same in a crash as the NP300?

Appart from Isuzu none of the new bakkies seem to be able to carry a load. On the new Hiluxes we are now limited for safety reasons to 350 kg load after we have had some problems.
