You wonder what speed that is at. I used to live near here. On Sunday I would be extra cautious on the R512 through the mountains before the t junction by the sasol petrol stations to buy the newspaper. There were some total idiots on motorbikes going through the bends at insane speeds.
    RIP. Not nice to see.

Looks like the bakkie with the canopy aqua-planed on the corner and head-on'd the Isuzu with the mielies.

I doubt either driver made it.

Old Izuzu or the chinese knock off thereoff, that's the problem with a weak passenger cell, the A pillar folds like that.

The one with the mielies is a GWM and the other one seems like an old Isuzu that it is a clone of. Result looks more or less the same for both.

Wonder why the Isuzu was on the wrong side of the road? (how they ended up indicates to me that's how it happened)

    EDIT:
Ah, see there is a curve, and together with a wet road...

yes, that is actually a sod of a corner and what you can't see on the second pic is the fact that there is a significant downhill just past the corner as well and the guys always drive too fast there

That GWM would not do good in a EuroNCAP...

If you go to Jelos google map link and travel on the road past Broederstroom cafe and exsel petrol station there is a cop about 400m further up the road and it looks like he is taking a fifty Rand note from the driver of a blue bakkie.

I was almost taken out on this bend a while back. Chap coming from Pecanwood side was speeding and couldn't make the bend and swerved into my lane. I was taking it easy, doing the speed limit, and could dodge him luckily.

No ladder frame chassis bakkie or SUV will do well in a EuroNCAP. You cannot have a crumple zone with a ladder frame chassis.
