    Almost done inside.

Painted the roof, and tidied up the floor/wall with skirtings.

Still need to tidy up that canvas work on that wardrobe, not happy with that.

    Electickery almost done.

    Gordyntjies will be here tomorrow.

Guys, I'm looking at (220v) interior lights for the vantjie - 2 of them, and then an exterior one.

I see Lumenco also sells 220v LED lights.

What else can one look at??

It MUST have its own switch - so that we dont need to switch on/off at the existing light switches.

Exterior light must obviously be waterproof and tough enough

    Lumeno verkoop 220v LED's, Mike.

K.........busy fitting the (only 2) interior lights. Lumeno 220v, alu casings, lyk heel nice. Blerrie duur gewees.........!!!

Also fit the exterior light, also the same Lumeno 220v thingie.

Then the curtains, must be in this week.

    Then the bedding etc etc.

I sort of want to finish up inside now.

Only thing it will still need will be a yskassie - but that's easy, I just want to fit the yskassie onto a 90degree "bar", sommer also strengthen the wall, too, while I'm at it. There was a cupboard there, I think something that also "stiffens" the wall there is a good idea.

HUGE fun so far, I really am VERY VERY dom with my hands, but I thoroughly enjoyed this, and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Not a pro job by a LOOOOONG shot, but it's not looking too bad either I think

Once finished inside, I'll go have a look at the exterior. Thinking in the lines of :

    1) Some fold up washing line thingie at the sparewheel at the back (Mark........I'm gonna call you here)
    2) I decided against an awning.......the "flat part" of the tent rail is way shorter than the overall breadth, so I think I'll use the existing rally tent, it goes nice and "down" at the sides.
What I'm planning though is to have a PVC bag made so that the rally and poles stay attached to the van.
Maybe I'll have a brand new rally made, exactly the "template" of the existing one - will see.
With zips attached to either attach the 1 or 2 Oztents either side, or then just a "wall", if its windy.
But must be plain and simple.........!!!
    3) Check the chassis etc etc again, strenghten etc etc where necessary
    4) Look at adding shocks......maybe.
    5) Look at lifting it a wee bit higher, should'nt be difficult
    6) Lekker looking tyres (with white lettering, obviously)
    7) Touch up the body here and there. The existing blue stripes is stuck on the old (faded) green stripes and "Caravette 5" lettering..........may look cool to get that original decals printed again, sort of adds to the "tarted up old van" look.

Front light is in, I'll just finish (hide??) off the rough edges with a piece of varnished wood. Looks OK I think, the shiny alu plate as a "back box" for the light. The lights also has their own switches, together with the ols original switches at the door, so that's nice

Lights sit flush with the roof, so I'm glad I "sunk" them.

Like I said, will just finish them off nicely with a varnished wood strip, will look cool and "retro" - I hope

Outside light.......bit untidy here. I'll just bend another piece of plate and "hide" everything. Maybe with an extra bend for water protection.

Jy gaan daai hout kunswerkie baie netjieser kry met "plat" hout strips as met half rounds.
