    Default Umdloti........What to Do there??

The Kids chatted me into going to Umdloti with them this weekend.

I would have liked to stay and work but nou ja - I'll join them. Bloody MADHOUSE here.

Hopelik is daar NIE 'n Woollies daar naby nie. Ek wil rustig op my gat sit en niks doen nie.

    1) What to do in the area??
    2) Is there some nice estuary/river around there, so that I can maybe take a little boat with, or not really??

    THANKS

    ??
If you make a noise or need music in the bush or on the beach, youíre missing the point.

mmmm, firstly what are your kids doing there.

If you think your work is a MADHOUSE, compared to Umdloti it would be a quite secluded monastery.

Fluffy - My wife and the kids got a nice house there (Westbrook??) to spend at the beach a couple days, I actually have to stay and work, too busy here. And Eishkom does'nt make it easy with Contracts etc etc to be signed, servers down and all that lekker dinge.

But ja - I'm going with them tomorrow.

Perfect place for that. Even better, you can do it on the beach during the day and out at night - a couple of nice restaurants there although some a bit on the pricey side. But ja it will be busier than normal. Not a place for a boat, unless you want to paddle or take your boat out to sea.

Just don't let your kids drag you to Gateway (Umhlanga), then you're in trouble.

Just saw your last post now - Westbrook is a bit quieter, Umdloti is a short drive from there, Ballito is 20 minutes up the road. Quite a few cold ones to have at "Beach Bums" (Westbrook).

Thanxamill Walk...........yes we're even taking Lillah the Dog with.........the girls are busy doing her nails, and getting her a bandana for the beach.

    I'm VERY serious.

The house does look nice and quiet(ish), must say.

Dalk moet ek so bietjie my "Off" Switch vanaand druk, relax en enjoy.

Pleasure Petri O...Westbrook is nice for early morning long beach walks, picking up shells, etc. I must say it also depends where at Westbrook you are - in the "village" it is a bit busier than the houses on the road further South along the beach (south of beach bums).

Beach Bums will be busy but an experience.

For what you are after you'll want to avoid Ballito (lots of Woollies there) unless you just want to go down to the beach area - good luck with that!

There is a small estuary at La Mercy (about 5 - 10 minutes from Umdloti) but it is only suitable for kayaks or wind surfing....

Yep, nearest "boat water" is the sea or Hazelmere Dam.

Grab a charter deep sea launch from Umdloti beach, that will shake the cobwebs out.

There are no charters from Umdloti. But I can lend you a fishing ski.

    Hi Petri,
First warning, swimming in the sea is very dangerous.
Early morning watch the Skiboat guys launching at the Westbrook beach launch. Sometimes very interesting.
Walk North along the beach towards the river mouth. Be alert though.
Sit on the deck at the Curry Restuarant "Spice" just past the car park and enjoy a curry. Very expensive.
Or go to the Casurina Beach (turn left at the circle) and go to Beach Bums and chill out.
Then south again, is La Mercy beach and the once famous " Seabelle Restuarant".
You want North Coast madness? The reward is excellent curry.
Travel up the Watson Highway into Tongaat (6 klm.) At the T junction, turn left and travel through the town keeping a lookout for the Golden Sun Supermarket on your left. Park and ask for "Danny's House of Curries". Up a ramp in the building next door to Gldn Sun. Danny's is a take away, but genuine North Coast curries.
So sorry I retired from the farm encompassing the area, but if you need guidance or help, give me a call.
