Default That one indispensable camping nic nac

I am not sure if this is the correct section or not for this thread but here goes
What is that one minor item that you have taken camping that turned out to be so valuable you perhaps could not survive without it?

Mine was buying two one-litre pee bottles so I would not have to get down from the roof tent at night time.
Due to serious surgery, I have been left with the need to pee many times during the night so up and down all night was not an option.

I simply could not have done without them.

I have read where people have got up to Pee and there was a leopard in the camp so it does become a safety factor.

I would be interested in any minor item that fits this thread, even the smallest items.

Talking about safety as mentioned by the OP it is a factor. Friends at Nossob last year on a night time loo stroll had a lion growling at them through the fence and there was a visitor to Twee Rivieren recently who looked out of his tent around midnight and saw several lions in the camp.

I think Twee Rivieren, SA side is well fenced. Two Rivers, Botswana side, not so much.

Fully agree with Stranger about that pressure bottle. Cannot believe we camped without it so long.

My other indispensable equipment is the silicone solar lanterns.

And our dark green 20L plastic jerry cans which we put in the sun to heat the water for showering.

Never heard the true story about what happened there was some speculation about some gate having been left open...

The fences won't stop a big cat from entering. A while back a lion burst through the Mata fence.
I heard they were now installing an electric fence there?

And of course at Nossob you have the jackals which are always in the camp at night.

Ultratech. Prices range from R149 - R200, depending on where you buy. Makro, Takelot, OW, Loot all sells them. I use them during loadshedding as well.
