    Default Disco 2 2003 Td5 dead

    Can anyone help.

My friends Disco 2 2003 Td5 drives 100% and then suddenly just dies and the emergensies come on and stay on. After struggeling and struggeling and disconnecting the batt a couple af times she suddenly comes rite and then drives 100% again.

The agents recon it can't be the emobilisor and they think it must be the tracker but have NO idea how to rectify the problem.

PLEASE HELP, our agents seem to be usless.

Check the Fuel cut-off switch located near the firewall. They are prone to misbehave.

Can this cause the emergensies to come on?
What does happen is after the engine has cooled a bit and the fuse no. 14 is removed and then replaced, then the problem goes and she runs 100% again.

Are you sure it is not the battery? I had a similar experience and it was the battery that was on the way out.

    Check this first...

Yes it will cause the emergencies to come on - to reset lock and unlock the car with the remote, then start as usual.

I wouldn't rule out the battery but this sounds like the fuel switch or a resetting problem from some sensor or other.

Possibly the inertia switch which is linked to the fuel cut-off. It is mounted on the firewall, on the driver's side I think.
x2 on the battery. Either test it yourself or get it tested.

Hope you are successful, your agent sounds like an idiot!

Just to make a correction. It is not fuse 14 but fuse 13 that needs to be removed to correct the problem. In the electrical drawing this seems to go to the ventelation blower fan?

We tried locking and unlocking with the remote with no success.

Fuel cut-off switch is located on the passenger side on the firewall.

Press it, then lock and unlock and see if that works.

Hope you get the problem sometime.
