Default Discovery 3 - Manual with springs

    Hey Guys,

I have a 2007 (2008 spec) imported Discovery 3 TDV6 S (six speed manual, spring supsension, only 5 seats, cloth seats etc)

I belive a few were sold in SA as an "E".

Its been pampered over the last 12 years to get to its 175,000km , and recently I have had a few very hefty bills to keep her in tip top condition (transfer case rebuilt, Cambelts, injectors and the list goes on). So perhaps I am loosing my stomach for large ongoing repair bills.

Naturally the stealers will offer me practicaly nothing for this car, but as it is a specialist type vehicle with what you could turn it into (reason I bought it but .. marriage and family delayed all plans).

So... would this possibly be worth anything to the right buyers & if so what is the likely price I should ask for this?

    Appreciate you inputs.

I think you are definitely going to get some interest in the coil suspension and the manual gearbox. There is a perception that the air suspension gives a lot of problems (not in my experience though), and the auto gearbox is the other big complex thing that can give in on you.

BUT the value of a TDV6 with that kind of mileage is not as high as you might think, due (mostly, I think) to the TDV6 crank problem. Hopefully you come across someone who is keen to buy it, knowing that there might be a new sub in the near-ish future, like another MikeBob.

There will definitely be buyers, as mentioned previously springs are a safer bet then air suspension

However I think you are better off keeping it, since you have looked after it and you have had a lot done to it , you know it's history.

    Better the devil you know.

    Cheers

Honestly, drive it until the crank breaks and then sell it as is. Still cheaper than getting a new Corolla.

    Hey gents,

    I appreciate your comments.
So I donít really have any idea of a minimum price, this was more of an idea to understand at what point people may be interested 🤷#♀️.
