I did that trip in December / January and the roads were all good, even the dirt ones.

I'm not sure where you're based, but if you get the time you should do the trip up Naude's Nek, and then drive towards Tinadearn and take the Patrol Road, a really nice 4x4 trail along the Lesotho Border. It brings you out near Tiffendel - a great day trip. If you like I can send the track that I recorded on my Garmin.

Rather post it here, for all of us.

Here it is. Ignore the Holderness and Crystal Hill waypoints - they are my family's farm.

Going through Barkly East towards Rhodes will bring you out where this route crosses the Bell river. This circular route takes you to Rhodes, up Naude's Nek onto the Patrol Road, via Tiffendel and then down and past the Wartrail Road.

The Mooidraai lookout point marked here also gives you a wonderful view from Naude's Nek towards the coast. On a really clear day you feel as though you can see the coast.

You might have noticed - I love this part of the world like no other. I write a bit about my travels, and there is a little bit here; http://jhbpikes.blogspot.com/

There is also a quite a long bit on the Caprivi under the 2008 tab. Why would you be interested ? - who knows
