Kia Sorento 2.2D thoughts

Hi guys

Want to get some info on the Kia Sorento 2.2D A/T (2015 model).
I don't know these vehicles at all.
How are they in terms of reliability, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, driving pleasure?

And do they have timing belt or timing chain.

Any other known issues?

I will appreciate any info.

Hi 2.2 motor is chain driven. I have towed with mine extensively and also driven on lots of beaches (where allowed, Namibia). If you are looking for a rock crawler, stay away, full independent suspension and low ground clearance makes it an awesome touring vehicle with typical soft-roader abilities only. It handles exceptionally well on road (not that you want to go racing, but you do need something that can handle a sudden swerve at high speeds- AKA MOOSE TEST).
As far as driving pleasure goes, it is very comfortable and economical. I am sure the other forumites that have owned and driven them can confirm they are not expensive to maintain. They are also not troublesome. As long as you remember that in essence it is a crossover and not a hardened 4x4.

Thanks for the info Chris. Considering a Sorento for my wife. Will be a road car only. I do the 4x4 and trail stuff in a Mitsubishi.
