    Default VG30 Viscous

Hi guys, My viscous/fan clutch on my Sani has stopped working. So when I start the van the fan comes on and when I accelerate it comes on and makes a really loud irritating fan noise.

I currently have a fourth viscous installed and all four gives the same sound/noise. First two were Moto Part bought from Midas, Third one was from a smaller spare shop and the fourth one is now from Masterparts.

I had to buy a bigger fan as the original fan did not fit any of the viscouses and cannot find the “smaller” one that was on the van originally.

Ive been told to have a look at the fan switch but my understanding is that the viscous is not needed if it had a fan switch.

Please guys any advise and tips will be appreciated.

Adjust the v-belt tighter and test again.

@Wiel. The noise is not from a belt slipping.

When that fan locks up it makes one hell of a noise at high revs. The noise goes into helicopter mode.

None of the aftermarket couplings worked for me. Go buy from Nissan. It is expensive but worth it.

Good news! I found a viscous that works! Second hand and half the price of the pirate parts!
