Buy that really strong type, they come with red or blue covering with red being the strongest. (something like 180kg of weight the whole role can support)

Not that you would need something that strong, but that tape is marvelous.

When a gps's suction cup for the window mount stop working, I permanently stick the cradle to the window with this tape and there it stays, come blistering sun or frost. I did this with both vehicles and they have been running like this for years.

Strangely enough when you need to remove it, it comes of fairly easy and without the mess that normal "household" tape gives when trying to remove it. It doesn't tear into little pieces and stay stuck. Not even a hair dryer or heatgun is needed.

Easy usually the one by the compressor but a surefire way is to see which wall has the frost on when it's running

Open it and leave it open while running, the active wall will remain frosted while the others will defrost

Any other users experiencing that the indicated compartment is not as cold as the other two?

I did some tests this weekend : unit set to 0, the basket compartment(s) is approx 1 deg but the smaller plastic compartment is on 14/15 deg.

I think that is the whole idea. The main compartments can be set to freeze and that small compartment's contents will not freeze? (That is how I use the fridge in any case...)

    Thanks New

As long as it is not only my unit but a 'std feature' I am a happy camper (Yes - the use case can be practical, eg for cheeses etc)

Yes New is correct, that is how it is meant to work.

I normally use that compartment for sensitive vegetables like lettuce and peppers. I find it too warm for cheese especially in high ambient temperatures.

I use my 80Lt NL as fridge in the trailer. And my CF50 as a freezer mainly for ice. That small compartmemt is called the dairy compartmemt. Butter, milk, etc that is not supposed to freeze. I pit all sorts in there, biltong, chocolates, dough etc. Sometimes even a facecloth to keep cool.

    Hi All,

I took advantage of the Black Friday special and bough a CF50.

It arrived last night and I plugged it in to find that the display was faulty, all the dials were illuminated so it always appears to show an eight. When looking closer you could just make out what the set temperature is.
However, the fridge would not cool. The compressor would run for a few minutes and then switch off.

I am inclined to ask for a refund and get something else.
Before I do so, has anyone had one for a few years now with no issues?

    Thanks in advance

There does seem to be a certain number of DOA failures. Just return it and get another one. Mine has been running 2 years now without issues and there are loads of similar reports on the forum.

I have had mine now for 5 years, and bought it secondhand from someone who had it for some years... Still called Weico.

    No problems

Just ask for a new one. It's a great fridge. And at the takealot price, nothing compares in that price bracket. Mine has been going for yonks.
