Can we add Hugh & Maryn Reimers. He has just joined Forum. No need to cater for them for the Saturday as they are Vegan, and will sort themselves out.

Sad news - Leeubok and family won't be able to make it due to unforeseen circumstances.

We'll miss you, Vicky and the kids Rickert.

Looks like we'll have to do another Ithala trip and come visit you

Some thoughts and final pointers for clarity:

Myself and Danie drove the route yesterday to check if all is clear and ok - for those who were concerned about car damage the route is tame and the likelihood of it happening is very slim. We need to stress the NO ALCOHOL on the route again as we are travelling through a mining area with machinery and plant, so please leave the beers at the camp. We will not drive if anyone has alcohol in the car, easy as that. Please note we will leave at 7am and NOT 8am as previously stated on Saturday.

If you have a compressor please bring it with - there is a place provided by Richards Bay Minerals for inflating tyres on the way back but it is one pump and we might spend some time there if using just the one outlet.

For the evenings, we will have a central fire area for the "kuier vuur" aka Bush TV but I will provide a separate fire for cooking/ braaing etc. The evenings are informal so there are no rigid rules - if you prefer to use your own braai place at the camp site then that is also fine. Remember on Friday eve Danie will be doing a talk on sand driving after we have done the welcoming and greeting thing. And Saturday evening we have prizes for a lucky draw.

Please also be aware of the vervet monkeys, they are sly buggers and will steal food at any chance they have. They are not at the camp permanently but they have a habit of being present when people are pitching camp. All food or anything that looks like food pease stash in the car/ trailer/ lockable boxes etc. And don't leave the car doors open as they will enter and help themselves. No food in the tent either.

And lastly, wow what a turnout..fourteen cars camping and sixteen for the day trip..awesomeness....can't wait.

    Woza Flaaiday!!

Riaan I am just so happy to see this all coming together at last.

    Well done!
    You all deserve a medal.

I really feel that we need to get a "local" KZN group together within the greater community and it seems that you are well on your way to establishing this!
We could have weekend or extended weekend outings within KZN maybe once or twice a year- so not too far to travel with today's (and coming up) fuel prices.
Also keeping the KM down, so saving cost there too.

See all you good folk soon ...

    Likewise Peter.

So glad to see so many members wanting to join us, standing on fifteen cars camping, which is the most I've seen at the GTG's I've attended.
