Calling for ladylover - you should have send the signal in the much broader - like in the pub. With a few exceptions most of us will answer to the call.

    alive and well

in my time on the forum i have assisted 1000's with advise
i have repaired 100's of vehicles and have many loyal customers
have always tried to be ethical and to resolve any disagreements where possible but reached a point not long ago where 2 x AS*£2££( made a scathing attack on me - one being ZUK410 blaming me for screwing up his engine and only around page 20 admitting that i was probably not to blame but not having the balls to publically loudly retracting verbal abuse! the second an idiot who in his wisdom decided to drive a vehicle with a water leak, cooked the motor and then tried to blame me. in this case he ran to the ombudsman and the case turned against him.

i then decided to divorce myself from negativity spread around on this platform and to redirect my focus.

it is very easy to discredit someone! it is difficult to build a name and credibility.
on one hand i can count "incidents" most of which were resolved without legal battles.

in Afrikaans we say - stank vir dank! i now withhold advise from experience gained from years of working only on Land Rovers and researching topics.

thanks to guys like Family Dog, Nico H and Henris to name but a few of being gentlemen and not getting involved in politics. many regulars have left this forum as a result of politics and bitching and whining! please ask yourself what the purpose is of this forum! to share knowledge! not to attack people publically! agree to disagree!

i have had my say so wishing you well!

Land Rovers never die, they simply become organ donors!

It will be sad to loos a person with such wide experience on about all land Rovers and a person that is willing to share his experience (free of charge) to all.

A friend of mine is a Landy indie.

There are indeed usually two sides to every story.

Most customers are abusive and expect the indie to have unlimited funds like a dealer. They don't.

So when you tell the indie to replace that R50k component, think about how that indie is going to fund that little exercise........when he has a half a dozen pending jobs and customers that pay late.

I wouldn't do it. I admire anybody that does. It's a horrible thankless job with customers that expect instant gratification and have no tolerance for mistakes.

Albert gave me good service the time that I did have my Land Rovers. Was always ready to help. I was not active on the forum for a long time.

I have also received good service from Albert in the past. He has gone the extra mile for me.

I have read all the threads about him lately and still decided to make use of his services again. As many have said, don’t only look at one side of a story.

He is currently busy with a very special project for me involving an engine, gearbox and transfer case rebuild a respray, lift, custom bull bar and some special internals for my 3 diffs... I might even start a thread on this build.
