Default Berg or beach? - Easter

Any suggestions of a nice place to camp/caravan with stunning views - tranquility - fly &/or bass fishing, facilities to entertain a 2 and 4 year old in the Berg?
    or

snorkel and play on the beach without sharing your tent pegs with the neighbours - where?

Not over Easter.....? Yup we've left it a bit later!

    Please give us some ideas...........

Berg = Mountain Splendour in Central Berg / Hlalanathi in Northern Berg
South Coast = without a doubt, MacNicols Baizley - absolute gem out of season

Depends on time of year you wanna go - mind you, the berg is also awesome in winter if you don't mind the cold. Our beach weather April - June is generally great - best time of the year.

Be different - try Barkly East, Rhodes or Maclear. Some of the best flyfishing in the country. Certainly (in my mind at least) the most magnificent mountain scenery available in SA. Amazing people, friendly, hospitable.

thanks for the compliment tumtum - we've been to mountain splendour a few times and love it - so much for the kids to do! but you'r right, no close fly fishing spots. Hlalanathi is also very nice and has a few dams on the golf course stocked with bass and trout - but for fly fishing, the southern berg would probably be best - i know that parksboard campsite just outside drakensberg gardens (forgot the name now but check out the kzn parksboard website) is very nice too - you have access to the drak gardens facilities and their trout dams and there are quite a few other dams in close proximity - this is actually a spot which i would love to go to again aswell - in fact, we are quite close to there this weekend - going to bushman's neck - hope you come right - we love the berg as a family and go there at leat 4 times a year.

Hi, Perhaps Rhodes / Wartrail / Tiffendell area or perhaps Brakkeduine near Humansdorp. The campsite is magnificent and spacious. Good Bass fishing in lake and also caters for the younger set with kiddies pool, great slip slide, swings , trampoline etc. The dune driving 4 x 4 track is a must do.
