Default Safari to Liuwa, Kafue, Kasanka and Lower Zambezi National Parks: November 2018

We as a group of six people with two Landrovers and a Toyota Hilux towing an Explorer caravan, visited Liuwa (Kwale campsite), Kafue ((Mapunga campsite), Kasanka (Pontoon 1 campsite) as well as the Lower Zambezi (Mfuu Lodge)
    Liuwa national park
Challenging route from Kalabo town to park, especially towing a heavy off road caravan!
Saw lots and lots of Wildebeest, mahem birds and hyenas lying in small water pools in the heat of the day. Friendly and supportive locals.
Basic camping in a wild place. Beware of huge snakes in camping area!
    Fabulous place!
    Northern Kafue national park
We camped for three nights at Mapunga lodge, next to the Kafue river. Lovely place! Lots of birds and antelope.
We drove to the Busunga flood plains. We saw 25 Roan antelope and lots of Zebras. Very special place!
Just beware of the tsetse flies.
    Kasanka national park
We spend three nights at Pontoon campsite.
This is a truly amazing place!
The fruit bat migration is absolutely spectacular! We saw Sititunga and lots of birds such as the Pels fishowl.
The great north road from Lusaka to Kasanka is very challenging due to the lots of heavy trucks on the road. We overnight enroute at Forest inn and Frangila. Both places are highly recommended.
    Lower Zambezi game management area.
We camped at Mfuu Lodge.on lovely grass and huge trees. Very special place!
We hired a boat from the lodge for some tigerfishing. Caught some nice tigers!
    Kariba dam
We spend two nights at Eagles rest lodge in Siavonga near Kariba dam.
Nice camping spot! Due to rainy weather, we could not fish. Visited the spectacular Kariba dam wall with a nice lunch at Kariba Inns.
From Siavonga we drove back to S.A. via Zimbabwe.
We experienced some very challenging and tough 4x4 driving. Very hot conditions.
This was an epic adventure in a truly beautiful country with friendly people.
