I think the trend is to design a Town/City vehicle with off-road capability and looks. The armchair adventurer, comfortably ensconced in Europe, earning a decent currency and within 15kms of a dealer or village.

A while back my Range Rover gave me bongs , lights warnings like transmission fault , abs fault , suspension fault ext. Took it to Landrover and they found one off the abs sensors came loose , put it back and all was OK again.

Hi and good day. I feel your pain and frustration, Just take it easy and think out of the box.

Back to basics, what was the problem, what was the reason that you decided to work on your car. Everything was working properly before you decided to replace the air-bellow and shock, correct so theoretically you have put the fault onto the car and now it is sending out bong interrupts onto the Can Bus and the ECU will sample them and every 5 times and will put a light on. Eventually you will have a whole Christmas tree full of lights, these are spurious interrupts which intern causes a communication bus errors. Now you are at the point that you unnecessary start replacing components and eventually land up crawling up your own arse.

Through all of this you have forgotten the single main problem glaring at you. The air suspension is in permanent off road height which is a default when there is an obstruction,

Now go back to where you replaced the shock and Bellow, remove the wheel and if it was a front wheel just behind the bellow is the level height sensor, check to see if the level height sensor is properly connected on the rubber grommets, check to see if it is not inverted 180 degrees. Compare with another wheel.
once you Have found everything to be OK then get in and make sure all doors are closed and start the car and then lower the suspension to normal height.

If you till have lights displayed which I doubt just do a master reset 3 keys on and off and then start on the fourth.

So after letting the Disco stand for a month, the problem has been found!

    The issues/bongs that were present:

    Park brake fault
    ABS fault
Hdc fault car remains in Access height
    No rear brake lights
    No speedo.

And all that was at fault was a chaffed Abs wire on the front right wheel under the plastic guard in the wheel well that was earthing.

    I'm now a happy chappy!
and NO I'm not selling her! She's as good as new.
I will keep on adding my 2SO religiously with every tank of Diesel. Future plans are to do a PolyTFE treatment and to change all the oils as she is now 1000 kilos away from the big 250 000km's.

This is excellent news, what a relief. But eish how small things can make things so complicated.

How did you find the problem?

It was a question of just tracing wires, my Obd2 diagnostic tool pointed out that it was ABS related and I took it from there

Great News...Yes, those small things do tend to cause bigger issues. Glad its sorted out. One learns to get to know these cars and when you understand them, great vehicles.
On a different note, you would also have seen various comments from the usual "haters'" and "trolls" that are non LR owners, but they hang around here to talk nonsense on every post where someone has a problem with a D3. They always tend to generalise with their negative remarks, never anything positive or technical for that matter to add. Best advice is to simply block them so they don't see your posts and you don't have to always listen to the boring negative remarks. You will soon see whom to ignore on this forum and whom to take advice from.
