Haha thanks, but it's a long way to Namibia, rather spend the money on a loved one!

    My Latest creation.

Made a video of Basslake 4x4 trail.

It is hard work to move the cameras around all the time.

    Thanks Peter

    Appreciate the feedback.

You do have a 35 year headstart on the beard...

    Thanks for subscribing.

This is also becoming a healthy outing, as each of these obstacles I had to climb like 3 times to put down the cameras etc.

Did 4x4 Kungwini a couple of weekends ago.

Below the link to the video. At this stage my biggest limitation in terms of adding more to the video are my equipment. My Laptop is also getting slow preventing me from adding some additional touches and I cannot use Da Vinci Resolve...

Question Re: Forum members on YouTube

For interest sake, on average, which day of the week would you guys say you watch videos on YouTube most? Then, do you just look at the videos YouTube suggests or do you go to the channels you subscribed to / enable notifications as well?

    Hi Christoff.

Great question! I see 4wdAction used to release on Fridays, but now do Thursdays. I mostly watch videos on Friday evenings. The ASPW and Ronny Dahl release 2x per week, think they do Sundays and think Wednesdays?

I try to upload on Thursdays or Fridays.

I have subscribed to channels and turned on notifications and follow these to the videos.

    @ Christoff

    Any day of the week.

Mostly what YouTube suggests, but that will usually be the channels one is subscribed to/watch the most/set notification for.

When I open YouTube just now your video "The 10 basic things you need to go camping" was the first one under "Recommended"

If I can add another question, what length videos do you prefer?
    1. Less than 5 minutes
    2. 5 - 10 minutes
    3. 10 - 20 minutes

I have found that the shorter videos do get more views.

Also, on a 4x4 trail, what detail do you want to see? The full obstacle, or just an overview?

    Awesome, thanks

I'm trying to decide on which day to post (weekly). YT doesn't always recommend videos even though you're subscribed and not everyone uses notifications so it's good to be consistent

    Tx!

For me it depends entirely on the content, as long as it's engaging I'll watch any length video (I do watch A LOT of YT so there's that though ). Short videos in general seem to perform better though (depending on the topic, genre, audience).

I would prefer highlights of the trail (general overview, what's fun, what's difficult, where could I pick up damage etc.)

Definitely shorter I prefer, just watched your bass lake one and I loved the middle part where the ditch was in the middle and you went over it. Also good video angle on the water exit with the water rushing at the camera.

Thanks, seems as if 5 - 10 min is the best for what I want to cover (as I want to cover most obstacles). Will also scale down a bit on some of the details.

Yes, this video thing is not easy. Especially because there are so many different wants and needs. The most difficult would be what to include and what not.

Personally I would like to see some failed attempts also as that gives a better understanding of the difficulty of an obstacle. But then it makes the video longer.

5 - 10 minutes are good (even longer if the contents is interesting and informative)

POV driving footage is boring if there isn't anything really happening. (a gate or river crossing or really steep incline)

360 shots of sites and their view are helpful.

Info and background are nice. (Size, roads, rules, price, what's available, anything special that makes a place unique, temperatures and expected weather, safety, campsite description like ground hardness/type and shade, is the water drinkable.)

Shots of notice/info boards that can be paused and read. (Gate time, prices, directions, distances, etc)

You guys are doing a good job, thanks.

Moegatle 4x4 trail video available on Youtube

Difficult to get enough content of your own vehicle if you are in a group - not enough time to move cameras around.

    Hi Folks,

I'd like to start doing videos about other people's camp setups, something like this https://youtu.be/oBNmTBQNWVU but more in an interview format. I think it would be interesting to see mods / camping hacks especially?

I suppose the logistics could be challenging, I would have to arrange to camp at the same location at the same time and people would have to be willing to be on YouTube...

What do you think? Anyone interested in sharing their setups?

    Cheers,
    Christoff
