    Default Windhoek Lager

I have some "Produced in Namibia" Windhoek Lager in my garage fridge.

Saw some Windhoek at the Store yesterday : Produced under license of Namibia Breweries by Heineken in Jhb.

    Since when?

I see Heineken also do Tafel, Amstel, Millers, ..... http://www.heinekensouthafrica.co.za/brands/

Hope they won't spoil it , as Windhoek is a great beer, while Heineken is pretty awful...

Heiniken not so much- very quafable no bloat feeling.

this time of year they ( heiniken) release those 5ltr draught kegs-

This is a much better option than the local SAB tipple...the local beers seem to guarantee a headache for me.

hops doesn't make you feel bloated: the ZA brewers over carbonate the beer and that makes you feel bloated

SAB / ABInBev add a TON of sugar to their beers, that makes raw ethanol which gives you the same hangover as cheap vodka. Precisely why I don't drink SAB beers.

I recall my worst headache in the history of headaches. My brother can vouch!

Joined my brother and the family for a Tshipise Easter weekend. His "swarie" and I got stuck into some Millers one night. Woke up at 02:00 in the morning raiding my nieces' nappy bag to find anything that says Paracetamol or remotely resembling, indicating or in any form associated with pain relief. It felt as if my brain contracted into a golf ball sized sphere of pain. I found nothing!

I sat up the rest of the morning clasping my head until we left for a KNP day visit at 05:00. Luckily we found an open road-side shop somewhere outside the resort. I was willing to pay an undisclosed amount for Disprin that morning, and if the owner was aware of my predicament, he would have been a rich man today. The relief was indescribable bliss and cannot be measured on any scale! Needless to say, that night I had a Coke or two.

After that I drink only Windhoek Draught and the odd Castle Light when I have a beer and NEVER, NEVER leave anywhere without headache tablets, ever again! Millers is considered a banned substance in my house!
