    Default Sustainable.co.za

    Just because an 'Eco' website looks organised and has massive offerings I am still skeptical if they make mistakes like this:
    Check the spelling of Li-ion..

    Sorry, they are correct....

    Li = Lithium

    Fe = iron

    PO4 = Phosphate

    Iím a bot confused regarding the point of the thread.

    And yes, Li-Ion was not spelled incorrectly - different subsets of battery chemistry...

    In the case of Sustainable.co.za they were listing LiFePO4 batteries, which are Lithium Iron Phosphate

    (Li-ion batterieas are usually small 3.6V rechargables , more scientifically referred to as Aqueous lithium-ion batteries)

    Ok!
    But they should refer to the battery type with the standard abbreviation: LiFeYPO4 (Lithium Iron Yttrium Phosphate)
    That way there's less likely chance of confusion.

    LiFePO4 is not the same as LiFeYPO4

    No.

    Lithium-ion batteries represent a family/class of batteries in whichlithium ions move from the negative electrode to the positive electrode duringdischarge and back when charging. Itdoes NOT refer to a specific battery type.

    This family/class of batteries includes multiple types such as: lithium cobaltoxide (LiCoO2), lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4), lithium ion manganese oxidebattery (LiMn2O4, Li2MnO3, or LMO), lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide(LiNiMnCoO2), lithium nickel cobalt aluminium oxide (LiNiCoAlO2), lithiumtitanate (Li4Ti5O12), etc.

    Referring to a battery as simply being a Li-ion battery is likereferring to your car as simply being a white car.

    I just wonder how could the BN-13V-154-2K have the same specs as the smaller BN-13V-77-1K and then the bigger BlueNova be on par with a 428Ah lead acid but the smaller one on par with a 214Ah lead acid.

    See actual specs:
