Default Camping spot between Pta & Ficksburg - ideas please

    Howzit Guys,

In need of some advice or guidance please. Good friends of ours live in Ficksburg and we in Pretoria, we have an annual get-together camping somewhere in the middle and have camped a few paces in the Vredefort Dome area, Vaal river and even as far out as Moreson close to Vrede.

Does anyone have a suggestion please, ideally a fairly quite spot/farm and not a holiday resort.

    Thanks a mill.

Shumba Valley guest farm (30 min away from Ficksburg)?

EDIT: sorry didn't read properly, between PTA and Ficksburg...

Why don't you go a bit further and camp at Moolamanshoek over the weekend of the Cherry Festival in Ficksburg, 15 - 17/11/2018? Try Barrat's range of cherry liqueurs, best in the world!

Thank you both Christoff and Jens78. We have been to Moolmanshoek many years ago. Shumba Valley looks really great as well. Unfortunately the Cherry festival weekend is already booked, we're looking at the weekend of the 23rd Nov.

Ideally we're looking for a spot somewhere in between. The biggest issue is traffic from Pta leaving around 4pm .

This looks like a good option in frankfort area on a farm?
    Enjoy

Thank you Paul, also looks worth exploring further.

Christoff, I have checked your definitive bush camp list and discovered Malonjeni, which also looks very tempting. I've sent them an email earlier requesting a quote should they have availability in the bush camp. Great effort, which will pay off, for sure.

Has anyone camped at Malonjeni Guest Farm recently?

    Thanks you Gentle People.
