    Default D-Max for SA

Just received this mail from Imperial-Isuzu stating

"IsuzuMotors South Africa has refreshed its bakkie range, giving it a new name alongwith higher levels of specification, quality and efficiency to make the popular light commercial vehicle more appealing. The new D-MAX – SERIES. NEW NAME SAME STRIPES."

    Wondering what will be new?

Think it now has a 6speed gearbox (Auto and Manual).

    Same engine.

Wonder if it will now have traction control?

On the 4WDAction show on youtube it goes very far...

Revised interior, nice info/entertainment system and screen

    LED lights

Looks a bit different (exterior). Nice looking vehicle, must say.

I was at the dealership in Swellendam this past week and they had one on the floor. The changes look amazing and the interior a lot less plasticky, such as a lot more upholestery and better looking panels. Also come with a bigger infotainment screen.

I see countrywide there's really good deals on the older models of still the KB. Like 40-50k cheaper than old listed prices.

There must be some reason a stupid one like why we didnt get the 430nms upgrade but in auz its still rated to tow 3500kgs so no idea by the way you should really consider remapping yours

No not for a while as far as i know, not even Aus has it. another weird thing is that Aus havent received the face-lifted version (the 2019) yet and we have...

I think if isuzu could bring in the 1.9 RZ4E Blue power in asap they would have an advantage over South Africa's other main bakkie brands.

The 1.9 puts out 350nm of torque and 111kw, its more than 2.5 and almost the same amount of torque as the current 3.0 liter.

On paper it looks like a nice unit, the 1.9...a last shout for the diesel engine.

I drove an Isuzu for 16 years and have just replaced it with a Toyota. One reason. The dealerships are few and far between, meaning that taking the vehicle in for a service is a schlep. I'm in Jo'Burg and there are so many Toyota dealerships to choose from within 10 km's of my office.

This is a factor that has swung my choice of vehicle in the past and will be a very strong considereation in the future as well. Makes one buy something other than what you would really want sometimes, but remains a serious issue. Bit sad actually
