When last did you clean your throttle body?
Been having some boost issues with my freelander lately and some throttle body error codes showed up. Here is what the carbon deposits on a 180000km TD4 throttle body look like.

Not just a catch can but that is due to the EGR. And then some people say dont block/delete the EGR.

Just replaced my glow plugs on a 2012 Ranger and had to remove the intake. Throttle body, pipes and intake manifold all looked like this or even worse.
Removed about 300 grams of carbon build-up.
It is a lot of work, but I feel this should be a semi-regular maintenance item?

Fitted a Provent 200 oil catchtank(vented to atmosphere) and EGR blank off on my ranger.
Very clean ever since...

2006 BMW 320d with 190k on odometer. The car was still running but stalled regularly under idling and no error codes.

Wynns makes a throttle body cleaner. If it's not too dirty and easy to access (not on a freelander 2), you could probably leave the throttle body on the vehicle and access by removing the air intake pipe. Originally Posted by shawn5061
