    ok, decided to build a Caravan.... Swambo and myself had enough of a trailer with a roof top tent and after allot of research and planning decided to go big or stay home,
    Designed is based on a spacious offroad caravan, total length about 5m and with 2.05m. Kitchen to be in the back and both the fridge and freezer up front, will share more pics as I go on.... No deadlines at this stage, might be a year project... o who knows

    Hy lyk swaarder as wat hy is, op die staduim is die hele raam amper kompleet en staan op minder as 200kg, die raamm is 50*50*1.6mm wat nie baie swaar is nie, Die chassis is sterker en die wheel-arcs het ek extra staal gebruik wat hier rond gele het.
    Beplanning is op die staduim vir onder 1000kg Tarra

    Maar ja... ek over design alles....

    Eks nog nie 100% seker nie... oorweeg op die staduim Aluminium of selfs dun staal.... hang af van prys sal seker staal wees... nie seker of mens plastic kan opsit nie... iets soos sheet Polyethylene ?
    Probleem met plastic is om oor dit te verf?

    Goeie Dag almal...
    Ek is / was besig om my Gypsey Caravette 5 te herstel..
    Het begin uitmekaar haal....en hoe meer ek uitmekaar gehaal het...hoe meer houtfrot het ek ontdek, het toe maar besluit om die hele ding uitmekaar te haal en oor te doen.
    MAAR nou sit ek met 'n dilhema...die kante is klaar....maar het glad nie reg uitegekom nie...is agter wyer as voor (die agterkant pas nie op nie...omtrent 15mm te breed aan alby panele om die gat kant oor die panele te pas)
    Ek wonder nou of all die "chemicals" wat ek gebruik het om die plywood (pine) te beskerm teen water / vogtigheid bv...deck sealer , en toe geverf ook nie die panele laat swel het nie...
    Ek het sommer lus en strip al die panele weer...of kry nuwe honeycomb / fibreglass insulation panele...laat sny volgens die presiese kante / panele (maar dit is $%^% duur)
    Enige advies sal waardeer word

    Ek het n materiaal ontdek by Maizey plastics, hulle noem dit M-foam.
    Dis n PVC foam wat mens kan plak en is waterdig

    yep, fantastic stuff and insanely strong for its weight

    Most isowall suppliers will be sitting with old expired stock that they need to move, due to the COVID drop in demand.

    M&G out near Brits has a ton of panels of various sizes and shapes and thickness.

    Got the I-Bond ACM from Maizey's
    Already started stripping the inner panels (plywood)...will be replacing with this product (3mm thick aluminum)

    If you are using metal (steel or aluminum) cladding on the outside, how do you fasten it to your steel frame?
    In a lot of the pics, it looks like no screws or rivets are used

    The guys use Sicaflex, you get different types, for example also keeps windscreens secure.

    Nee, hy gaan hoog wees.
    Het eers beplan om n opslaan dak te maak maar daar teen besluit. Dak is presies 1.85m van die vloer sodat ek net mooi kan inpas
    Suspension is indenpedent met Airbags wat ek kan afblaas as ek staan
