Default DIY/ Homebuilt Caravans and trailers.

Seeing that there are threads for all the makes and models of caravans and trailers out there. Home built products also have "bragging rights".
We need our own thread of what we have built. How it performs and what would you change.
    The weight and tow-ability.

    Let me start.
Built in my garage, except for the chassis. Galv chassis, 3CR12 body and aluminium doors. Berco supension and brake parts. No Plastic or wood. Weighed 640kg with licensing. Tows like a dream(very stable). If i had to do it again, i would have squared off the rear end. Cost so far +/- 65k

Often wonder why you clued up guys don't build 2 identical when doing these projects ? Sell the 2nd to get all costs back.

No, not really, don't feel like all the comments on a illegal reflector or lights that is not so many mm from the top or bottom making my build illegal.
Then towing it on a public road knowing that it is illegal..... oh the sins!

Just a question on something that has been bugging me for years.

On a truck, or trailer, your back bumper must be no more than 600mm off the ground.
This is for safety, should a car hit you from behind it will not end up under the truck.
Now I have for years seen those big busses on the road, not the Greyhound type, the other type, where it slopes up from he back wheels to the end of the bus.
That opening must be 1m plus, why is this 600mm rule not valid for them?

Note the bumper height on the truck and the bumper height on the bus.
Some busses that runs rural routes has much higher back ends, I just can't find a picture of one.

I wanted to do a blog on my build but time never seems to be there.1987 Sunway that I gutted down to nothing and started by building a new chassis. The only original parts left are the Aluminium and Polystyrene part of the wall sandwich and some of the windows. Here's some of the build pics and two before ones
