Question Police Intelligence starting to work

I would say there are indications that the police intelligence unit has started to work. In many cases this kind of organization can be captured by few top level people plus couple willing operatives. Change the top and relatively quickly the organization starts functioning. I was told by an insider that this exactly is the case with SARS.

    Some cash-in-transit suspects again arrested:

Hopefully they get them into the jail. Successful prosecution has been a big problem.

I am not convinced.I still see cracks eg.VBS report by a Judge made public still no arrests.imminent arrests would of been a good start.

In this case the intelligence unit has nothing to do. SARB was apparently tipped off about the problems sometime in the beginning of the year. It is up to HAWKS, normal police and NPA to proceed. Much faster will be the professional bodies in their reactions. SARS has better powers than cops but they are in bit of a mess due to one Mr. Moyani.

Report doesn't say anywhere that any one of the persons mentioned are guilty. It just states facts. HAWKS and cops have at least 10 people working on the case.

And yes Report states clearly where the money was utilised it did not say money gone missing.it says x amount into x account therefore clearly no need to wait.the waiting is what makes cases like on point and many others a laughing joke and i am not convinced they are serrious.

Not actually for this topic but to clarify:

VBS report was written/investigated by Advocate Terry Motau SC. He was appointed to investigate by Prudential Authority, which is South African Reserve Bank. Advocate Motau was assisted by various companies including Werkmans Attorneys. (Report pages 3 to 5)

Recommendation are on pages 136 to 139 and they include very serious actions to be taken.

Arrests and subsequent court action can only be done when criminal investigation is done or sufficient evidence is gathered that indicate that alleged culprits intend fleeing the country or interferes with the investigation.
