    Default 3 Channel Data Logger

I want to measure and log the AC current in three circuits of my house DB.
    - Incoming supply
    - Geyser 1
    - Geyser 2

A logger with 0 to 5Vdc inputs will be fine - I'll use small CTs and some interface circuitry to get a proportional 0 to 5V signal for the inputs to the logger.

I just want to measure the currents - I'll assume 230Vac for power calculations.

I'd like a sampling rate of say 1 per minute but every 5 minutes will be OK.

I have an simple OWL energy monitor that I've been using for a long time but I'd like to get more daily data to log geyser on/off times etc.

Data can be logged to the Cloud, onto a SD card or whatever.
CSV, XL formats are all OK.

Anyone know of a reasonably price data logger that can do this?

    Thanks.

Cannot help with data logger but a hour meter will work on the geyser I presume? The Watts used is a known value for the geysers.

Nope - I want current consumption and time-of-day information.

    You can try arduino.

There are quite a few components that you will need in addition to the shield below. I'm not sure of documentation and diy on Google, so check first if it may suit your needs and abilities first.

It is designed for this type of ct clamp

Have a look at this site as well

Datataker also has good stuff - lab quality, but you wanted cost effective.

    Thanks HD.

I have Arduino hardware and have dabbled with it a bit.
I have got the demo programmes to run but I'm still well on the learning curve for Arduino coding hence me wanting a ready built logger.
I don't have the time that is needed to get one up-and-running fairly quickly.

Having said that it would be great to have an Arduino based logger with my own code.
I could then get the exact functionality that I want and adapt as my needs change.

Thanks a lot for this input. This seems like a great unit to measure up to 14 circuits and then the storage af the data is superb.

    Will do.
Thanks for a heads-up on the unit.

Damn - what a great device.
It does 95% of what I want a datalogger to do.

The deal breaker is that the data stored in the unit cannot be exported for analysis on a PC, neither by cable nor wirelessly.

A pity - have to keep on looking or build a Arduino based lagger myself.

Have a look at: efergy e2
I have one and it's all you need for logging with PC connectivity
It might not have the number of monitoring channels however..

That nanoview is really cool, pitty about the external connectivity...
