Default Vehicle Selection help needed needed for an SUV noob

We need a 7 seater that can pull a horsebox. Searching for something made in 2011 or later, 150k kms give or take. Searching online, but as I'm not familiar with all the SUV models I just want to make sure I'm not missing something super obvious. Budget is around 250k. Weight of trailer and 2 horses comes out to about 1900 kg. It will not be used for off roading and 4x4 isn't necessary.

I was looking at the Everest but the older models seem to have a 1500kg limit while the newer ones which are too expensive for me are at 3000kg.

I've been looking at Fortuners but they hold their value so well it's hard to find one in my price range.
The Pajero Sport seems like the best option that I've found anyway.
The Trailblazer I'm scared to bite on as Chevy is gone.
I believe the Range/Land Rovers and MUX are also out of range so I'm not even looking.

So am I missing any obvious models? Also, is it a horrible idea to go over the tow limit? I'd assume it's the limit for a reason! The different older Fortuner models are somewhere between 1770-2075 for a braked trailer. But I'm guessing on the horse weights and not accounting for all the gear and kids that might be inside the vehicle as well...although I'm not even sure if that affects the tow weight if it's in the vehicle? And does anyone know of any good sites that show all the specs of the older years? I'm in charge of the vehicle shopping but an old Fiesta is the only vehicle I've ever had! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Consider a Nissan Patrol 4800 - not sure if in the year models you are checking, but it is a lot of car for the prices you can get them at
Heavy on Petrol, but tow vehicle weight is also something to consider...
Not sure if 7 seaters options in the Patrol though...

Otherwise consider something like this as well

You should be able to get a decent D4 2012 model in that range. And you will battle to find a better car to tow heavy trailers with, regardless of what everyone here says.

Petrol or Diesel are both great tow vehicles. If it's going to be your daily drive, then obviously the diesel is a better bet

Mahindra Pik-up. I know it has a 1900kg+ load capacity, will check towing capabilities for you shortly.

    Towing capacity of 2500kg braked.

    https://mahindra.co.za/site/products/pik-up-single-cab/

    Also available in double cab.

I've spoken to a few guys who own these bakkies, they rate them better than their Hilux/Fortuner/Ranger etc. Some are getting 12.5km/l and better, depending on the load, etc.

I have the little KUV 100 and I am very impressed with the quality of the vehicle all round.

Take one for a test drive, you might be pleasantly surprised.
