    Default Snomaster fridge wireless remote

Anyone else with a snomaster and wireless remote?

I was so excited about this product to monitor the fridge while driving.

Gives the temp reading for fridge and freezer sections separately, and then AC or DC power source, and the voltage of the battery on DC. What is nice is that when I'm driving, it shows the battery charging also so I would be able to monitor if something goes wrong with charging system.

But so disappointed, that with the fridge in the conqueror, the remote does not pick up the signal from it so I cannot monitor anything while driving.

I called Snomaster technical support and they are aware of it, but cannot do anything about it, hoping to sort it out with future models.

Now I have to get out before I switch off my vehicle, walk towards the trailer to pick up signal, check everything before switching off at fuel stations or wherever I stop next to the road.

Just an FYI post so that perhaps it makes someone aware that had the same plans as me..

Got the snomaster BD60 unit with same controller, Mine is able to connect to fridge from around a 15m radius of the unit in the back of the van. it must be the metal frame of your conqueror creating a faraday effect.

Agree. Also got the 60 and mine works up to 20m. (Line of sight)

Problem is that a Bluetooth signal cannot penetrate. Its designed for weak short distance communications.

Maybe it's possible to move the Bluetooth sender unit or its antenna to the outside of the fridge and/or trailer for a better signal?

It's a very nice controller and one of the reasons I chose the Snomaster.

I inquired whether the sender can be moved , but unfortunately it is built into the pc board of the fridge as per snomaster technical support.

Must be the conqueror metal frame. Was my first thought as well.

I have a fibre glass Echo Namib and my Snomaster remote works exceptionally well.

You can always look at installing a Bluetooth repeater to help boost the signal. There are some reasonable 12v options available.
