Wouldn't a Jimny transfer case fit?

As I understand, the first Jimnys had lever control (kort kierie) transfer cases and are interchangeable (if not exactly the same as) with the Coily's. But not the later models with electronic selection. Any old Jimny cases available?

There will be very few of those about. All of the ones brought to SA by Suzuki were push button.

Remove transfer case, take to gearbox place to replace chain. Re-fit transfer case, drive a few hundred thousand more km?

Chain alone, without gears, bearings, seals and other components that might be damaged, is R.6 200-00 and the original chain didn't last 100 000km! The gear-driven SJ413 transfer cases are stronger, with better gear ratios and more re-gearing possibilities, although noisier!

100,000kms in Pretoria is about 4 years of driving.

That is a divorced transfer case: surely a small Jeep NV will work or the Nissan Safari transfer case?

Both are SJ410 Transfer cases. Gear ratios won't work for the Coily, well maybe on 35" tires!

I'm sure there are a lot of transfer cases that can be used with a lot of modifications, but the SJ413 cases from 1990 to 1995 are the perfect fit!

    Any success with TC?
Iíve got a 1996 coily, consider fitting a 410 TC or crawler box. The SJ413 TC is still in excellent condition.

Will confirm if / when it become available, uír welcome to test drive SJ before removing TC.

Still looking for TC and some gears.
