Default Interference on Audio Head Unit

    Hi

I have a problem which I hope someone can assist me with.

I did some sound deadening on my bakkie, sticking dampening material on the larger body panels.

All I did to the radio is solder a bad earth.

Now the head unit is giving feedback through the speakers whenever I operate anything electrical, flickers, headlights, interior light (sounds like a Star Wars lightsaber when it goes off).

I've pulled an earth straight to the body and power straight to the battery which hasn't worked.

    I've also disconnected the antenna.

When the amplifier is on by itself but the head unit is disconnected the feedback disappears?

Could anybody point me in the right direction please, I've run out of ideas?

    Tried that, it didn't work.

I did find the problem though.

I had screwed one of the roof lining screws in to a speaker cable.

You have no idea what a knob I am.

I've spent two days trying to find the problem and I've partially stripped and rebuilt the dash twice..

Ground loop, pretty much the only thing that causes this

You get interference eliminators from most car audio shops, cheap as chips and patches most noise issues
