I'm tired of the silver foil type shades that perish after a year or 2, then start falling apart dropping pieces of the shade all over the dash and the vehicle interior. Ideally I'd like one of those sun shades made from folded cardboard(no chance of them perishing) that they used to sell but it looks like they are no more.
What sunshade is durable and easy to put up and take down?
Checkers sell nice cardboard ones. Wife has one.
Or else do what I did and cut the black part on the edges off and you sorted.
You get one that has spring loaded sides, like in two connected circular pieces of fabric with the spring on the circumference. I find they work best for single person use. I have two that's been in use for years. Not sure where to get in SA though.
We can't change the wind but we can set our sails
Are you referring to the Go Gear ones:

I had some made by a caravan place in Gauteng who has multi layered insulated stuff which he imported. They sew it up to the correct window size, and it attaches with suction cups. I can't believe how cool this keeps the vehicle. Chalk and cheese when comparing it to the stuff you get at Midas.
If you are interested in the contact details, PM me.
Here are two pics. Silver on the sun side, grey on the inside. The second pic shows the thickness - when compressed it's probably 3mm thick
