Do you still have to hold the door closed with the right arm when driving?

Yes, I know it is only for the bigger folk to sit properly

Africa is not that dark anymore.

As an example, you can get 50ppm in most of Botswana now. I would probably be more worried about dirty diesel - so a second fuel filter would be a good idea.

Nope not at all. plenty of space. I am almost 2 meters tall and over weight and I fit comfortably in it with space for rear passengers.

Another feature that has gone is, there is no need to hold the spare and slam the rear door. It closes almost by itself and has a shock on it to prevent the wind blowing it open.

Deliveries will start after launch on 22 June. I was given a delivery date of 25 June.

Reviews will come out after the embargo is lifted. From memory thatís around 22 March.

Liked the Short overhangs both ends, lots of power points, great interior with lots of cool tech, tyres on 20Ē rims still had good sidewall and looks are growing on me.

Disliked lots of exterior plastic, relatively small windows (feel slightly hummerish), boot wasnít as big as expected (looked about disco 2 size) and lastly that I cant afford one.

The 90 will be a lot bigger than the old one and the 130 should have lots of boot space. I think the 130 will be a great overlanding rig.

I maintain that I would oneday love to have one of these discofenders next to my real defender.

I hope a few people buy white 3.0 6cyl, with explorer pack, black exterior pack and khaki windsor leather seats, and take good care of them, so I can maybe buy a pre owned one in a few years.

Southern Africa may be ok. The Rest, like central, east, there won't be much luck there with 50ppm.

It would be nice if the diesels can tolerate higher ppm.

    Great minds...

But I decided against the black exterior pack. Its all that glossy black stuff that's around the windows on the Evoque and RR. It scratches super easy and it's almost impossible to get out.

Yes true but there is a 3M protection film that can be applied. I will be fitting this to the entire side and front of the Defender when it arrives.

This is what my build will look like. Unfortunately the nose protection bar, ladder and tow eyes on the rear dont show up as an option so I will just order those separately if i have to.

yes to make the paintwork look matt. I am doing mine at a 3M applicator locally as a gloss. It will not be seen easily.
