just look at the wheel perspective , the one you see the side wall and is alot wider than rear left where you dont even see the sidewall

    Image is distorted.

Maybe that is why it's leaning afterwards
Always think: Could this be sarcasm?

No. It would lean a lot more. Looking at the power lines, the angle of the picture and not knowing how it is packed i would be impossible to assume anything. I would say just a bad or distorted picture.

What motor do you guys think would be better?
    The D240 4 cylinder 177kw Turbo diesel or the P300 2.0 4 cylinder 221kw Petrol.

Im inclined to want the P400 3.0 6 cylinder Turbo Petrol that is a mild hybrid......whatever that means

To be honest, I'm sh1t scared of any of the new LR 2.0l engines.. Would prefer a 3.0l V6 diesel like in the D5.

But, I 'm glad to see these Defenders are at least using the GY Wrangler Duratracs. Must say, they look good.

Yeah I agree about the 2.0

Im not sure if the Duratecs are standard as many of the pictures Ive looked at dont have them.

Well they're also GYs so maybe also developed with them. I've only seen the Defender with GYs. And I much prefer the Duratrac to the AT/SA (or whatever it's called).

    What is the size? I seem to recall it's a 255/70/18? Roughly a 32inch?

I want to start with a 90 in PHEV if available in SA - this would be an epic daily for me as my commute is very VERY short to were I can also charge the batteries - also would love to do a few 4x4 routes on Elec only

Then a 130 also in PHEV IF i liked the 90 experience ? This will replace the D4 V8

If PHEV not available only P400 will do for me

    P400 is the perfect D4 V8 replacement

My guess is that that picture was taken through the windscreen of another vehicle, and hence the distortion. I find the paranoia somewhat humorous though

No, they don't come out with Duratracs. They come out with Adventures. (Both are Goodyears, but the latter is an A/T , while the former is a hybrid A/T M/T)

On some of the international Land Rover websites, they are offered as optional "professional offroad tyres" or something.
No option on the South African site yet. Perhaps it will still come.

The Adventure is a great tyre in EVERY respect. But it doesn't look nearly as good IMO.

What I would like to know, is can the MHEV P400 (mild electric) crawl along without turning the engine on at low speeds? This would make it such an awesome game drive vehicle...

    Totally agreed.
    And,
It has more power, more torque, uses less fuel with 2 fewer cylinders, and for us in Gauteng, we don't lose the 25% power because its turbo (and super) charged.

It will be better offroad and probably better on road too.
    A great replacement indeed....

Just checked my build wrt the tyres.

It only says "off-road tyres" but does not specify which.

This is exactly the spec I have asked for although I may change to white. Cant wait to see them but they look great in the pictures. I know there are many haters but I think its brilliant. Certainly better for my needs than the D5 which is also great.
