Default Home UPS using camping gadgets

Hi All. I have a CTEK MXS10, and two 100 Ah AGM deep cycle batteries. It occurs to me that to keep the Playstation, SmartTV, and DSTV Explora running without damaging hard drives, etc., during our frequent power outages, I could plug these two into an inverter, and run continuously that way as a home-made UPS solution. Off-the-shelf UPSes only last minutes, so donít help the outages during the night. Your thoughts, please?

Also, must I have a pure sine wave inverter, or will a modified work in this scenario? Many thanks

I'd go with a high quality pure sine wave inverter.

@ SerenitySeeker I run my LCD, playstation, DSTV from my modified sine wave inverter during power outages no problem, for years now.
