    Default Is this a scam..?

After much deliberation I decided to sell my motorcycle

I advertised on all the usual sites and eventually someone called me a decided to buy the bike... All normal so far.

Then about 3 weeks back the guy pays for the bike in full... Without seeing the bike, but money reflects and everything okay I guess. He will come and fetch the bike the next weekend.

Since then though after contacting him multiple times (and him confirming that he will come to pick up the bike) he has just stopped responding and has not come to fetch his bike... Yet the money is still in my account (no reversals, no request for a refund, no nothing) What now? This is a bit fishy yes or am I just paranoid?

Transfer into another account or withdraw the money.

Agree... Unless he is just very trusting, yet the no corrospondence worries me. I even contacted my bank and they confirmed the payment.

First off, go to the bank(the physical building one) and go make sure the money really is in your account.

How much money are we talking here?

My guess is ,if its a scam, the person has paid illegal money into your account in cash, so he will soon ask you for a refund via EFT thus making the illegal money legal.

That is what I thought might happen yet there hasn't been any request thus far and it's about 3 weeks now...

It's around R40k so could be a cash payment as you suggest.

Check with your lic. Dept if bike is still on your name. If not it could be insurance scam

Guy could be in hospital, prison, drunk, hiding the fact he bought a bike from his wife....or travelling with no comms.
I've done similiar myself.I've still got stuff to pick up from another forum member after a few weeks now, just can't seem to get there.I haven't contacted him either, but don't want to bug him and say I'm not coming .
A legend in his own mind

True hence why I ask if I'm just being paranoid... A sanity check of sorts.
