Default New Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain plus

Anybody running these yet? Dealer showed me one yesterday, they look amazing, but the compound feels a bit soft so I am sceptical how long they will last...

Going to need a new set of tyres soon and have added these to short list along with Hankook Dynapros, Goodyear Adventures and General Grabbers, so any feedback is very much welome.

The best tyres I have ever had.. explain "soft" tyres
My view ... Soft = flexible
    Hard = Brittle
No one has answered when I have asked what soft is.
Very well priced and comfortable.have them on my Triton... Done from Durban,. Since July 2017 Kgalagadi.,Augrabies, Wild Coast (at least 15 trips) Kruger , Mozambique and they still look excellent ,drive them every day ,

They're excellent - I have them on my Panda Cross and they're quiet on tar and very grippy on gravel.

When I say soft I mean just that, the knobs are very easily pushed around and twist them, and you can dig your nail into them. In theory, they will have excellent grip, but wont last all that long.

Are you sure you have the AT + and not the ATR though? As far as I am aware they were only released in March this year.

On my D3 on the previous Pirellis I had a marble sized stone pushed through the tread/casing.

    Got about 60k km's on a set.

I have them on my Disco XS...only done 2000k so far, all on tar, so can't comment on offroad traction etc. They are excellent on tar-great traction &quiet. My brother has Hankooks on his Prado-also very happy with them. Not much in it as far as I can see....

They seem to be scarce. I am looking for 275/65x17 or 275/70x17 for the Patrol at various outlets, but no one seems to be able to get them.

The guy I spoke to said its because they are still very new, they have not brought in many sizes yet, I went today to fit a set of 245/70-16 and they were out of stock as well, not too much of an issue though as it was not urgent, so will go next week.

Maybe give them a call and see if they cant maybe source some for you? Edenglen tyre and exhuast 011 974 8007

I have the pirelli scorpions. The old version. Extremely happy with them. Done 75k so far with them and they look like they got another 20-30k off them. No punctures and I've done some decent offloading with them.

Got 5 of these tyres yesterday, so far I am happy with them, seem very quiet on tar, will update after doing some mileage and wet weather driving, offroad etc

Not sure how they got it right, but nice aggressive tread pattern for looks and function without a drone!

Iím happy so far - only 4000km

They just look terrible because of that silicone the my put on... so the dust just sticks.

I fitted 4 Pirelli Scorpion ATR Plus - 265/60R18 - this past Saturday on my Trailblazer at TWT - Ballito. All in R 14000-00. It was an unexpected expense as I was only going to have a nail removed from a tyre - but the Coopers AT3 - with about 30 000 km left of life - that was on my TB - had very bad sidewall cracking, and I opted for new tyres.

Pirelli is not known to me, so we will see how this set go.

I fitted 4 AT+ yesterday. I had the ATRís on before.

I was actually dead set on getting Goodyear Wranglers Adventure tyres. Comparing the two tyres in the shop persuaded me to go with the Pirelliís. The price was the same for both.

The AT+ is much more aggressive than the ATR and even the Wranglers but apparently still have good on tar performance. They have a very BF AT look about them but with a tread pattern much more suited to disperse water.

I took a drive yesterday to feel them out a bit. You can definitely feel they are not as refined as the ATRís and there is more noise from about 110 km/h. Iím sure the dividends will be paid when venturing off the beaten track.

They look fantastic! Where the ATRís really had a much more HT look. The bakkie now just looks more purposeful.

    Time will tell I guess!

Another note: The guys at TyreMart tells me they are selling the AT+ by the truck load.

They apparently received very positive feedback so far.
