A catalytic converter needs to be changed between 100k and 150k km
Also when your vehicle's performance and fuel consumption has drop get the cat tested
Our fuel in SA is not the cleanest I think

I am thinking of doing a decat on my 2.8 TCI.
Not sure what to expect and what to look out for.
Basically thinking of removing the cat and just putting a pipe in its place.
Not sure if there is a sensor I need to consider.

Hi I removed my 2l vgt cat and had no issues with it. Straight pipe in place where cat was with no sensors on it. Just have a look if there is any sensors on. If there is they can install a dummy cat on the straight pipe and your ECU will be happy.

Stupid question I know, but did the 2.8 TCI came put with a CAT. I dont see a box that resembles a normal CAT. Just a small silencer box towards the front close to the engine.

If it does not have a CAT, any benefit still in removing the front small silencer box?
