    Question License disc holder

I lost the license disk on my XT120. The holder was/is the standard "twist the cover on" type. Sand/stones blasted the back side of it. Cover got lose. Don't want to loose it again.

Where fixed and what type holders do you use? Where to get? Our car spare part supplier has only the standard "twist" type.

    Thanks

Bought one from Full Throttle in Edenvale - motorbike accessory shop.
Stainless steel and the two halves are held together with stainless cap screws and nuts. Completely waterproof

Looks like they have closed down but I'm sure there are other motorcycle accessory shops

Please do not waste your time buying these perspex square ones that you mount on the side of your trailer. They leak water in the desert.

I always fit those rectangular metal plate ones with the plastic cover, they work well, if you over tighten them they crack, they pop rivit onto the trailer so they never come off. Mount them in a place where stones cannot find them. I have yet to have one leak

I have that crap and laminate the disc with book cover clear plastic.
You can also use a ziplock plastic bag over the disc and screw on the plastic cover.

I also use one of those. Replaced the front plastic thingy with clear UV stabilized perspex and just stick the licence disk to the back of the perspex, with a standard windscreen sticker, before fitting. Works like a charm!

Put a copy on the trailer and keep the original in your vehicle. They are sort after at fuel stations on the N! and N4.

I've used clear vinal like used for vehicle wrapping. I stick the disc to it then stick it the trailer after cleaning the area properly. Also done this on my Lotus 7 with no problems from the law or water getting in. Much cheaper than any holder that can break off or get damaged.

Midas sell those as in pic 11. I have one on my off-road trailer. I also laminate the disc and then cut it out and stick it inside. Even if water do get in, the lamination prevent the disc from getting wet. Also helps for fading in the sun.
