    Question Need some expert advice

    Hi

    I need some expert advice.
The need a vehicle that have the capabilities to drive through deep sand (like the Groenriviermond road)
Sure, there are a lot of 4x4's that can do the job, but I also travel long distances, so fuel economy plays a big role.
My one friend goes everywhere with his Jimny, but that thing is just so damn slow. I can't see myself driving 1000km with it.
Are there any of those smaller SUV's that can handle sand?
If not, which of the proper 4x4's offer best mileage?

    Jacques

Maar al die 2de handse was so 2015+ modelle vur hier by die 400 000 mark. Izuzu 2de as dit by rygerief kom . Ranger 3de

    Amarok 8-spoed auto
    Fortuner
    Pajerosport
    Trailblazer
    Nissan X-trail

Man, eintlik enige 4x4 diesel bakkie of SUV. Of meeste petrol softroaders.

    For R300K you'll get a solid used 4x4 Fortuner.

Or a brand new Mahindra Scorpio S11.

Or a brand new Mahindra Bolero DC 4x4 with a chunk of change

I'd stay away from the softroaders, if you can get a proper 4x4 now, do it. I've never been in a situation off road in my 4x4 where I though ooooh I wish I had a softroader.

Have a look at the previous Everest 4x4. Not stellar off road but heck they are a LOT of vehicle for the money.

    Zigackly!
And btw, driving sand and fuel consumption cannot be used in the same sentence.

Of the 9906 posts you have made, these are probably the wisest words ever!

    So with that in mind:

    - You can get used Trailblazers with low KM for that price.
    - As stated, the previous (ugly but brilliant) Ford Everest is a good option.
    - You can get a just-ran-in Pajero for R300k
    - If you are set on a Toyota then you can get a decent Fortuner at the price
    - Test drive the 8 speed Amarok. It is a brilliant drive
    - You can get a brand new Nissan Np300 2.5 4x4 diesel fro something like R330k - no frills

Unless back seat space is a priority, this will serve you well for, well, for ever basically.
