    Default Manufacturing date on Batteries

    I stumbled on a code which DIXON uses to date their batteries
    They use the phrase SUPERATDIXON = 123456789101112
    Therefore a battery manufactured in 2013 May has the code SPR on it
    2012 Dec will be SUN
    2018 Sep will be SDI and so on
    (not sure what they will do 2020 onwards)

    Please reply with any info on date codes on other makes of batteries..........
    (Maybe this could become be a Sticky)

    That is great stuff. You buy a battery and it is already 10 years old.
    I have never heard that the battery shops sell you a completely dry battery , which you can fill with acid yourself,when required.

    Battery shops don't, but when you get to industrial level installations they do sell dry batteries that you have to install and commission.

    I once bought a 12V battery for a ride-on lawnmower. New battery was completely dry. It was a very odd physical side. Just add acid.

    Most motorcycle batteries are sold dry with an electrolyte dispenser

    When my Jeep battery was are placed under warranty it was done with a dry OEM battery that was filled and charged for 24 hours before fitting.

    Deltec codes are easy - the month is a letter of the alphabet.

    27B14 = 27 Feb 2014
