    Default Fresh meat for CKGR

    Hi All,
Just doing the menu planning for our trip to Botswana later this month. We will be travelling from Moremi to Maun and then from Maun to CKGR (having restocked fresh food in Maun) and just realised that we will not be able to take fresh meat from Maun to CKGR. Wondering if there is anywhere else we could buy fresh meat - Rakops perhaps? Or is it better to do chicken and pasta dishes? Would love to hear what other travellers have done. Thanks for your advice.

    Hello Gillied,

You can buy meat in Rakops at the Engleton's butchery. They take orders in advance in case you wish for them to freeze the meat for you. No: +267 2975233.

    Regards,

    Hans

We were doing Maun -> Nxai and had the same problem.

Butcher in Molopi was recommended to us by the people in Maun, but in the end we skip stopping and went vegetarian for a couple days.
We had some bacon which I would have argued is processed, but they didn't even want to look in the fridge at the vet fence (would count on that though).
