Hi guys, my first post here.
Moving back to the Republic and have decided to go for a Freelander 2 as my first Landie. This forum has been an amazing source of info on this vehicle!
I'm looking at 2012-13 FL2 SD4 SE, budget around R250k.
Could anyone please recommend an experienced Landie mechanic in the wider Cape Town area to inspect the vehicle independently?
Most are on the market at Landie dealers but still think it would be worth the peace of mind?

LR Service Centre in Montagu Gardens sell second hand vehicles, and any vehicle they sell will have been very thoroughly checked by their excellent workshop. I'd go straight to them http://www.lrservicecentre.co.za/showroom_search

Thanks for the reply guys! Definitely going to try and get the 2013 facelift if possible. There's an 2013 SD4 HSE with 81k on the meter for sale for R265k, good deal?

That’s a hell of a lot of car for the money. It’s exactly like the one I had. HSE spec means ALL the bells and whistles. If it’s been looked after, that looks like an awesome buy.
Top tip, after you bought it, try get a set of 17” rims from the S model. They come up on Gumtree from time to time, just keep an eye out. You’ll have far wider (and much more affordable) choices of AT tyres.
Be prepared for owning the most capable softroader ever created, and start thinking of nice things to say to the owners of serious 4x4’s when you sail through sections they bog down in.
