We were at the Olifants one last year - great fun.

Seems like a good idea wonder what the costs are and the medication costs?

Can't remember off hand what we paid a few years ago but those trips are worth every cent.

We paid R6270 in Feb this year for 2pax - all inclusive.

It was REALLY worth every cent. Quite a few drives, nice meals and goodie bags.

We are considering doing it again.

(We also won a 3 nights stay at Olifants as part of a lucky draw at ours, so extra bonus for us!!!)

Sjo I don't think I can afford that? Did it include accommodation?

Accommodation, hours worth of game drives (something like 4 drives in total), all meals, some drinks and snacks.

Works out about R1500pppn for all inclusive. So definitely more than a "normal" Kruger weekend, but when you add up the drives, expert guides, meals etc then it's fair. We certainly left feeling it was good value for money.

My missus and a few friends attended this weekends' event at Punda and she said it was an experience of a lifetime and worth every cent.
They were lucky enough to have Don English as their guide, so they were able to travel the roads that the public cannot access as well as his vast knowledge on everything from insects to trees and geology.

Besides seeing 160+ species of birds, they had amazing sightings of other animals too. This included a Marshal Eagle that took out a Sharpe's Grysbok.

Good luck and enjoy! I got up to +-150 birds the week in Kruger, I would recommend getting the bird lasser app (its free) and entering the Kruger challenge, its a lot of fun to see just how many birds can be seen and how the pros rack up the numbers and species and where.
