As a comparison, Swambo's 2.5 Individual Auto averages 9.6L per 100km in 95% Urban driving and she has a heavy foot.

That is very good for 2.5 in town! I would imagine 2.0 should be around 8.5 in town then.

To be fair the 2.5 is tuned so nicely with the auto box. It really is a good combination, one of the most fun cars I've ever driven.

My wife has been driving her CX5 2.0l auto now for just over 3 years and she is still very pleased with the car. Open road consumption is in the region of 14 to 15 km per litre. Town driving is about 10km per litre. Build quality good, no rattles or noises or things falling apart.

I was a little bit scared for insurance on a R400k car...

But, car insured with extras including car rental for R732 p/m. Swambo hasn't claimed since I know her so this probably helps. But yeah, her insurance on the CX-5 will be less than what I pay on the VW Up!

We took delivery of Swambo's CX-5 yesterday at 16:00... Thanks all for the input.

Will start a new threat to document how it is doing etc.

The deal was done through Mazda East Rand, and I can highly recommend them. Dealer Principle took time to come and have a nice talk with us over a good cup of coffee. Sales Executuve was Riaana Vorster 082 six zero two 947 two.

I would have opted for the White one. But Swambo really liked the 'Soul Red Crystal'... I must admit it is a beautiful color, that will most likely grow on me

I was there, saw the vehicle. I think I'm going to do it and get a blue one, like you probably saw standing there. Many safe miles, congrats!

We do about 100km a day, half of that on the highway. With enthusiastic driving the trip computer has been pretty consistent in staying at 9.7l p/100km. I have had it down to bout 8l on a long chilled drive

We get 12km/l in town and can easily go to 14/15 on the open road.

that 2.2 diesel engine is a gem in that Kia, VERY underrated vehicle that. We own the older version, getting on close to 200,000km but still feels tight as a drum, well built car.

We found and bought a neat 2017 Dynamic auto 2 months ago and what an awesome well build SUV.
It is the Wife's daily, she loves it a lot and when i also get a chance to drive or she borrows me lol.. I enjoy the drive and cannot fault it at all.

I have averaged 7L/100km on an open road cruising and she averages 7.5-8km/100km on mixed driving as she is a heavy foot driver LOL

Not from SA but from the UK. Wife has a 2018 2.2d auto. Done about 18k miles. First Mazda we owned and very very impressed so far. No issues apart from a recall to fix something.

Average between 40-45 mpg (14-16 kpl).

I would have no issue recommending it or buying another. Having always owned premium German brands I can honestly say this is as good if not better. Only thing it lacks is the street cred of the big brands but perhaps understated is better.
